Our story

Dunn Hunny logo

Out here in East Texas, the seasons don’t just change the weather—they change the honey. Our bees work the Piney Woods bloom by bloom, turning wildflowers into something you can taste. We keep our process simple, harvest only the surplus, and bottle it the way we’d want it ourselves: pure, minimal, and true. Small batches, one yard, and a jar full of the season.

Bee on flowers

Bee-first harvests

We prioritize brood health and winter stores. When the hive is thriving, we harvest surplus in small batches.

FAQ

Quick answers to common honey questions.

Why does raw honey crystallize?

Honey naturally contains more sugar than water can hold, so over time some of the sugar forms crystals, causing the honey to look thick or solid. This is completely normal and a sign of real, minimally processed honey. Crystallized honey is safe to eat and just as delicious as liquid honey. If you prefer it liquid, simply warm the jar gently in warm (not boiling) water until it returns to its liquid state.

Is your honey filtered or heated?

We keep it raw and lightly strained. No high-heat processing.

How should I store honey?

Room temperature with the lid on. Avoid long exposure to heat.
